  • Give people plenty of notice– To make your fundraiser a rousing success, give people as much time as possible to plan ahead and include it in their schedules. Try to avoid busy times when lots of potential attendees will be out of town, like holiday weekends.
  • Promote your event– Word of mouth and flyers on the church/school/scout bulletin board are great, but in order for your event to be a success, you need as many people as possible to know about it. Use every tool at your disposal to spread the word. Call local radio and news stations and ask them to mention your event. Submit your event information to any local calendar or event websites you know of. Try to get it printed in local newspapers or newsletters. Ask local businesses to let you hang flyers. Make a Facebook event and encourage people to invite their friends and RSVP.
  • Choose the right venue– The best way to make your fundraiser a success is to make it fun and appealing to as many people as possible. One reason our Hiram family entertainment center is so popular as an event venue is that we offer a variety of activities so that everyone can have fun. We have an indoor playground for kids, laser tag and roller skating, an arcade, and great food in our cafe. When you hold your event somewhere fun, you won’t have to convince people to show up; they won’t be able to resist!
